...COMING SOON...

...COMING SOON...

ELO – Showdown

Last night I was editing a piece on Jeff Lynne. I’m still working on a few things right now, so I have to make this quick, but I thought I’d put this up since I haven’t posted in a little while. Its a dope track… he’s one of those funky white guys. Sorry no music link on this post, little busy with work at the moment, but be sure to check back.. I’ll update this post, and attach some tracks.

new Punch Out for wii!!!

Punch-Out!! Wii 'Debut' trailer

So I was pretty geeked when I saw this. I was watching Jimmy Falon again (apparently I watch that show a lot), and one of his guest was some chick from G4. They had this game on their big screen, and Jimmy obviously doesn’t know the game, cause he couldn’t get any punches in on King Hippo.
According to Wikipedia, this game is a remake, with a mix of new and old characters, and old and new moves. Sorry though… there’s no Mike Tyson in this game. Nintendo dropped his name off the title years ago. it supposedly came out last month. I’m gonna have to keep an eye out for this one!

Not even sure what to say about it.

I’m sitting here sorta working, waiting for files to upload, then Cygnet sends me this link. Not even sure what to say about it.. other than wow… this little girl watches too much TV. But its still kinda cute.. and pretty damn funny.

The Fugees @ The Apollo (1996)

Every once in a while, I do some editing work for this small little PR company. ASCAP happens to be one of their clients. A while back they had me edit a piece on New Edition, when they won an ASCAP award. Really fun to edit since I’m a New Edition fan. This time, I have another fun piece I’m doing with them. Its a piece on Wyclef. Again, I’m a fan. So after looking through all the footage, this was in one of the bins, and I luckily found it on youtube…. Classic Fugees performance at The Apollo!!!

Poker Face – Kid Cudi ft. Kanye West, Common, A-Trak, Lady Gaga

My brother turned me onto this track a few days ago.  Its a pretty cool track.  Not sure if Kanye produced it, but it sounds like he did.  The drums kinda remind me of “Herd em Say”.  Lyrically, its not the dopest of tracks, but its still a cool track.  And catchy as hell thanks to that Lady Gaga track that they flipped pretty nice.  I’m definitely lookin forward to some cool shit from Kid Cudi and Kanye.

Common though…  Before I say anything… just know that I’m a big Common fan.  One of my favorite MCs.  But I have to admit that lately, he hasn’t really been spitting with the same fire he used to have.  I guess its another example of a case where “when someone’s eating more, they’re not as hungry as they used to be”.  Granted, he still comes smooth as hell, but the content isn’t all there.  And… when he quotes lyrics from more commercial tracks, (like he does on this song)  he sounds like an old man singing along with his nephew.  The track is worth downloading to get a laugh at Common singing Jamie Foxx.. “blame it on the aa-a-a-al-ca-hol!!!”

Lady Gaga…  She probably has no Filipino friends.  If she did, I’m sure that one of them would have told her that “gaga” in Tagalog means “stupid girl”… anyways…. I really hate that Just Dance song.  Why would she tell me that she needs to doo doo before she dances??  But, I did think that Poker Face song was kinda cool until I heard it like 50 times a day on the radio.  I was really starting to get annoyed by her, and all her songs, but then I saw her perform on American Idol… yea I said American Idol.. judge me!!  Anyways, after seeing her acoustic version of the Poker Face song, it let me tolerate her a little bit more, cause its pretty dope.  Just her on the piano, and I’m assuming that they sampled that version (unless she re-recorded it for them specifically for this track).  I’m gonna post up that acoustic version, as a little extra, cause I’m a nice guy.

oh… can’t forget.. A-Trak on the cut.  Dope, clean, period.  its A-Trak, what more do you need to say?

Well if you actually read all that…. Sorry…. but I’m assuming that you came here looking for these links:

Freddie McGregor – Loving You

freddiemcgregor

In case you haven’t noticed…. there’s no real direction planned for my blog.  Just all completely random.  So last post had the Beach Boys, this post is Freddie McGregor.  I was going though music, and I came across of a whole folder of reggae 45s that I recorded into mp3 format, but haven’t imported into my iTunes or Serato.  We all know reggae music consists of a lot of covers and reused riddims.

In this track, Freddie McGregor does a nice slow reggae version of Minnie Riperton’s classic Loving You.  I’ll throw in both versions for good measure.
