Bambu – Crooks & Rooks

Bambu “Crooks & Rooks” Music Video (Short Film Version) from Kid Heroes on Vimeo.
I was sitting in traffic, and I went through my iPod and put on Bambu. I have 3 of his albums. Look them up on iTunes. Listening to this brotha makes me feel like a college kid in a Filipino club (which I was). Plain and simple, this cat makes me think, gets me motivated and inspired, and also makes me proud to be Filipino. He makes you think and look beyond your comfort zone. I’m definitely a fan.
Him and Kiwi used to be The Native Guns. I can still play the Native Guns album (Barrel Men) from front to back. Native Guns remind me of a Filipino Black Star. With Bambu as Mos, and Kiwi as Kweli.
Anyways, I’ve never met Bambu before, but my homie AJ from Xylophone Films worked on this Crooks & Rooks video, and I’ve know his manager Kat since high school. Kat… if you come across this, I’m gonna hit you up about getting some drops and an intro for me!!
I know a lot of you don’t like to read too much, so check out the video, and the track Crooks & Rooks, then go to iTunes and buy the whole album …Exact Change… (I’d link you, but I don’t know how to link to iTunes… maybe someone reading can school me on that). I hope they don’t mind me sharing this one track, but definitely pick up the whole album… actually… pick up everything he’s done!!
